The Pilot Program, tenants who wish to participate in the Pilot Program, and who are renting from landlords who are participating, elect to have their rent payment information reported to consumer reporting agencies and potentially build and improve their credit with their timely payments of rent.

Ongoing participation in Pilot Program means that you agree to the following:

  • My participation in the Pilot Program is completely voluntary, but will end no later than April 1, 2024 when the Pilot Program ends;
  • My payment of rent may be reported regardless of whether my payments are timely or late, and that such reporting may commence within thirty (30) days once
  • I’ve elected to participate in the Pilot Program;
  • I may also select to have my previous timely payments of rent from the past twenty-four months reported once I begin participating.
  • Missed payments will not be reported but my participation in the Pilot Program will automatically terminate after I miss three payments consecutively;
  • I must complete the online financial education course provided by RentTrack before I can participate in the Pilot Program;
  • I will provide necessary information to allow RentTrack to access my credit score information before and after I participate in the Pilot Program. Your credit score will not be shared on an individual basis, but will be shared in aggregate form with CHFA and the to measure the effectiveness of reporting rent payments.
  • I will complete a simple feedback form on my experience in the Pilot Program; and I can stop participating in the Pilot Program at any time via my RentTrack account; however, my payment of rent will stop being reported and I cannot rejoin the Pilot Program under any circumstance.
  • If you do not agree to the above program rules and wish to cancel your free subscription, please review on how to cancel your subscription.

    Additionally, CHFA, ask that you complete a brief survey (less than 10 minutes). The survey will help report the successes of the pilot program and help our partners better understand how rent reporting impacts people. Responding to this survey is completely voluntary, answers are anonymous, and will not impact your participation in the program. Survey Link

    Individual results vary. You may not receive an improved credit score. Other factors, including activity with other creditors, may impact results. Many lenders, including most auto and mortgage lenders, do not use scores impacted by rent.
